When it comes to narrating the history of Nigeria and mentioning some of its prominent leaders, General Sani Abacha will not be forgotten in a hurry.
News has it that Abacha’s youngest son Mustapha just graduated from the university. The son of the one-time military leader in Nigeria graduated from his mom’s institution, Maryam Abacha American University. The university which is located in Niger Republic has been accredited by the Accreditation Service for International Colleges (ASIC).

The proud mother took several pictures with her son as he graduated from the university. Aside from being there as a parent of one of the graduants, Maryam in one of the pictures was seen presenting her son’s certificate to him.

It could be recalled that the Abacha’s administration became the first to record unprecedented economic achievements in Nigeria. Abacha died in June 1998 while at the presidential villa in Abuja. He was buried on the same day, according to Muslim tradition without an autopsy. This fueled speculation that he may have been executed extra judicially by way of being poisoned by political rivals.
