The Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) has ordered the immediate removal of the officer in-charge of Yola Prison, DCP Abubakar Abaka and a nurse, SP John Bukar over their complicity in the unauthorised medical report on a high profile inmate Bala Nggilari, the former governor of Adamawa State serving five years jail term in Yola prison. It would be recalled that SP Bukar, acting on the instruction of DCP Abaka, issued a medical report to the Adamawa State High Court, claiming that Bala Nggilari was sick and would require medical attention in a Canadian Hospital in the United Arab Emirates. But Zone ‘C’ Coordinator of the NPS, ACG Bala Mohammed Isgogo said by training and competence, neither the nurse nor DCP Abubakar Abaka is qualified to originate such recommendations.
